Since the beginning of COVID-19, Blue Ridge Energy has worked to assist our members during this difficult time. With the expiration of Gov. Cooper's Executive Orders 124 and 142, Blue Ridge remains committed in our efforts by continuing to suspend disconnects and waiving penalty and late fees for electric members until October. However, we encourage everyone with a past due balance (including Flexpay members) to call us by August 31 at 1-800-451-5474 to set up a special payment plan or ask us about crisis assistance from the In This Together Relief Fund.
Blue Ridge Energy to Host Open House and Showroom Sale Aug. 22 at its Watauga District Office
Blue Ridge Energy will be hosting an open house and showroom sale at its Watauga district office on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
The Watauga open house is an opportunity for members and the public to visit the district office, get bucket truck rides (weather permitting), learn about programs and services offered by Blue Ridge Energy and tour the location that handles all Watauga County operations and customer service for both the electric cooperative and Propane and Fuels subsidiary company.
Employees will be on hand and there will be a variety of activities and special one-day deals. Visitors will save 30 percent off of gas and hearth products such as gas logs and hearth products, fire pits, fire tables and wall heaters; $100 off grills and backup power generators PLUS an additional 10 percent off all showroom appliance products such as grills, outdoor kitchens, space heaters, generators, fire pits and fire tables. Visitors can also enter to win a $250 Visa gift card and fill their propane grill cylinder for just $5!
Employees will be providing electric vehicle rides and discussing programs such as community solar and Beat The Peak.
The open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but sale prices will continue until 5 p.m. Refreshments will also be available. Those interested in attending are encouraged to visit the Blue Ridge Energy office on 2491 U.S. Highway 421 in Boone, on Wednesday, August 22.
The electric cooperative serves some 76,000 members in Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe, and Alleghany counties as well as parts of Avery, Alexander and Wilkes counties.
