Greer Honored with Technology Excellence Award
Tanner Greer, senior vice president and chief technology officer for Blue Ridge Energy, was recently honored with the top technology award from North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives.
The Tim Peede Technology Excellence Award was presented to Greer at the 2025 Cooperative Technologies Conference & Expo hosted by North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives in Wilmington, NC.
This award is presented in memory of Tim Peede, the former Vice President of Information Technology and CIO for South River EMC, who passed away in January 2023. The recipients are acknowledged for demonstrating Peede’s exceptional leadership, innovative mindset, commitment to integrity, and dedication to serving others in the workplace and the community.
“Those of us who have had the privilege to work alongside Tanner know firsthand the passion and dedication he brings to every project and challenge,” said Katie Woodle, chief executive officer of Blue Ridge Energy. “Whether he’s tackling new technology, supporting his colleagues, or sharing knowledge throughout the cooperative network, Tanner leads by example with integrity and unwavering drive to serve others,” Woodle said.
Greer has spent nearly 17 years at Blue Ridge Energy. In his current role, he guides the cooperative’s overall technology vision and strategy. He is responsible for aligning enterprise technology initiatives with business priorities and member needs. His leadership spans cybersecurity and risk management, infrastructure modernization, enterprise architecture, and data-driven innovation, including the responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
