Since the beginning of COVID-19, Blue Ridge Energy made the decision to suspend disconnects, waive late fees and offer special payment plans to assist our members and customers during this difficult time. While the decision had already been made to extend these special circumstances, Gov. Cooper also issued a new Executive Order 142 on May 30. We encourage everyone (including Flexpay members) to continue paying your energy bill to avoid a large balance at the end of this crisis. Budget Billing Program
Blue Ridge Energy offers a Budget Billing Program designed to give participating customers set monthly payments (interest free) and the convenience of auto-fill delivery service (must meet eligibility requirements.)
Who is eligible?
All current or new residential customers of Blue Ridge Energy, LLC purchasing any heating fuels we offer: propane, fuel oil, kerosene. Subject to credit approval.
How does Budget Billing work?
Budget Billing allows customers to make the same payment 11 months of the year and “even up” in the 12th month. Working together, we review your energy usage patterns and current cost of fuel to determine your annual fuel expenses. We divide this amount by 11 to determine your monthly payment. In the 12th month, we “even up” your account. You would pay the remaining balance, or if you’ve used less than expected, we credit your account or issue a check if the amount is over $150.
Will my payment ever change?
We understand you may have changes in your heating system or usage, so your payment can be adjusted at any time if it’s set too low or too high.
Is there a fee?
No, as a Budget Billing customer there are no monthly finance charges (unless your payment is late, at which time all regular late fees and terms apply.)
What if I have a current balance with Blue Ridge Energy?
In order to participate in the budget billing program, any outstanding balances must be paid in full prior to sign up.
- Account must be current prior to beginning the program and remain in good standing.
- Credit approval required.
- A customer may be removed from the program if required payments are not made within terms.
- Auto-fill delivery status.
